Abbeville - A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am, on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville, for J. Simon LeBlanc, 76, who passed away on Monday, February 8, 2016.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 am until 10:00 am on Thursday at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Abbeville. A rosary will be prayed at 9:45 am on Thursday.
Fr. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Memorial Mass.
Mr. LeBlanc honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was employed by Cardinal Wireline and Union Oil of California. He volunteered his time at the public library as a tax preparer for 16 years. He loved being involved in his childrens and grandchildrens activities and interests. He was an avid fan of the L.S.U. Tigers and as a pastime he enjoyed hunting, playing golf, traveling here and abroad, and going to LaFondas on Saturday nights, which was something he has done since 1960.
He is survived by his loving wife, Adrienne Beauxis LeBlanc of New Iberia; two sons, Joseph Simon LeBlanc, III and wife Cathy Silva LeBlanc of Houston, TX, and James Matthew LeBlanc and wife Dina Sonnier LeBlanc of New Iberia; a daughter, Michelle Rene' Hungerford and husband Stephen C. of Abbeville; seven grandchildren, Andrew Stephen Hungerford, Amanda Christine LeBlanc, Abigail Simone LeBlanc, James Matthew LeBlanc, II, Lindsay Taylor LeBlanc, Danielle Nicole LeBlanc, Joseph Simon Sims LeBlanc, IV; and two step grandchildren, John Stephen Hungerford and wife, Kristen, and April Olivia Hungerford.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph Simon LeBlanc, Sr. and Lucille Domingues LeBlanc; and two brothers, Norman Lee DeMary and Perry Brady LeBlanc.
