New Iberia - Jacob Bob Dworaczyk passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 in New Iberia, Louisiana, after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. In honoring Bob's wishes, his body was donated for research.
A Celebration of Bob's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Born on May 1, 1943 in George West, Texas, Bob was the son of Henry and Josephine Korczynski Dworaczyk. He retired from American Electric Power as an electrical engineer. An avid outdoorsman, Bob loved hunting, fishing, backpacking and sky diving. A man's legacy is not riches, possessions or worldly goods of any kind; it is the way he lived, the lives he touched, the promises he kept. It is the kind of man he was.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Moreland Dworaczyk; his son, Jacob Jay Joseph Dworaczyk, Jr. of Pearland, Tx; his brothers, Daniel F. Dworaczyk of New Iberia, Sigmund J. Dworaczyk of Edna , TX, Henry S. Dworaczyk of Osage Beach, MO, Michael C. Dworaczyk of San Antonio, TX; his sisters, Lorine Robalin of San Antonio, TX, Georgia Keith of Edna, TX, Ann Bates of Poteet, TX, Lil Abshier of Bishop, TX.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, John Dworaczyk of Alice, TX, Osker Dworaczyk of Austin, TX, Nicholas James Dworaczyk of New Iberia, LA; his sisters, Clara D. LeBlanc of Houston, TX and Josephine D. Sheffield of Sweeny, TX.
