Saint Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:00 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Church in Coteau Holmes for Jacqueline C. Savoy, 52, who passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021, at her residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 2:30 pm.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Joseph Padinjarepeedika will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Scriptures will be read by Annette Trahan, Jade Hammon, and Candace Derouen. Gift Bearers will be Easton Hammon, Pierson Savoy, and Devaney Savoy.
Jacqueline was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Coteau Holmes. She loved animals, especially dogs. She would feed any animal that would wander over to her home. Jacqueline loved going to the casino, swinging on her swing, and playing with her fur-babies. Jacqueline was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be remembered for her zest for life and the unconditional love she had for her family.
She is survived by her loving husband of 35 years, Roy Savoy of Coteau Holmes; two sons, Sy Savoy of Coteau Holmes and Ry (Allison Carline) Savoy of Loreauville; granddaughter, Charlotte Grace Savoy; grand-pups, Barba-Jean and Anna Claire Savoy; and seven sisters, Rebecca (Wayne) Daigle of Coteau Holmes, Annette Bourque of Coteau Holmes, Darlene Arnold of Abbeville, Marlene (Carl) Frederick of Parks, Michelle Berard of Charenton, Sherry Byrnes of Ferriday, and Susan Berard of Ferriday;
She was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Paul Chataignier; mother, Shirley Berard; stepfather, Allen Berard; paternal grandparents , Maydell O. and Lenist Chatagnier; maternal grandparents, Annette and O'Neil Boudreaux; brother-in-law, Albert " Boo Boo" Bourque; uncle and aunt, Pete and Patsy Kidder; and her fur-babies, Tina and Reba.
Pallbearers will be Sy Savoy, Ry Savoy, Vin Louviere, Chris Melancon, Brandon Romero and Rylin Savoy.
