St. Martinville - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, on Monday, March 25, 2013, at Notre Dame Catholic Church in Saint Martinville, for Jamaal Peter Fontenette, 34, who passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Pellerin Funeral Home in St. Martinville from 6:00 am until 10:30 am on Monday. A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am on Monday. Rev. Stanley will officiate at the Funeral Service. Reading the scriptures will be Nesie Mitchell and Latricia Chretien. Serving as gift bearers will be Troy Greene, Jr., and Jamaal Fontenette, Jr. Music selections will be performed by Leola Jones. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery in Saint Martinville. Jamaal attended St. Martinville Sr. High School in St. Martinville. He enjoyed playing football and various other sports. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Jamaal was a strong courageous and a leader who was passionate about his work. He loved to laugh and joke. His greatest aspiration was to develop more skills toward advancements within his work place. He was a devoted father, brother and son. He loved his children dearly. He will be greatly miss and forever loved. He is survived by his mother, Mary Della Robertson; maternal grandmother, Gertie Mae Robertson, his sons, Jamaal Peter Fontenette, Jr. and Jaylon Jamaal Fontenette, his daughters, Jaylah Marie Fontenette and Kharli Morgan, his brothers, Patrick Marks, Jr., Jermaine Chretien, Trone Boutte and Lloyd Boutte; his sister, Shemeika Greene; his niece, Kaydence Marks and his nephew, Troy Greene, Jr. He is preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Peter Fontenette; his sister, Patricia A. Marks; maternal grandfather, Philbert Robertson, Jr.; paternal grandmother, Alberta Fontenette; his paternal grandfather; his uncles, Philbert Robertson, III and Chris Robertson; and his aunt, Rita Mae Robertson. Pallbearers will be Sherriate Washington, Calvin Washington Jr, Nolan Sam, James Joseph, Dewey Lee, Curray Williams, Marcus Bourda and Quentin Greene. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Marks, Jr., Curtis Robertson, Joseph Robertson, Henry Mitchell, Troy Greene, Jeremy Fontenette, Hubie Johnson III and Casey Robertson.
