James Donald Bertrand, Sr.

Broussard - A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 pm, on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Our Savior's Church in Broussard, for James Donald Bertrand, Sr., 69, who passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2014, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Pastor Jacob Aranza will officiate at the Memorial Service. Mr. Bertrand was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad, where he worked as a Bridge Tender and he was a volunteer Reserve Deputy with the St. Martin Parish Sheriffs Office for 18 years. James was a Mason and a member of the Hope Lodge and Breaux Bridge Lodge 476. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jerrylyn Durio Bertrand; his son, James D. Bertrand, Jr. and wife, Candy; two daughters, Sheila Bertrand and Jamie Lopez and husband, Joey; his brother, Billy Bertrand; seven grandchildren, Justin Bertrand, Hali Dautreuil, Derek D. Landry, Shayne Landry, Donovan Landry, Jude Thompson, and Hunter Lopez; and two great grandchildren, Carson and Ryker Dautreuil. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank E. Bertrand, Sr. and Cecile Hebert Bertrand; a granddaughter, Abbi Lynn Lopez; and four brothers and two sisters. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111), is in charge of arrangements.
