James Ray Courville

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, December 23, 2009, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Cecilia, for James Raymond "Ray" Courville, 87, who died on Monday, December 21, 2009. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Cecilia. His son, Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, will officiate at his Funeral Mass. Mr. Courville was a parishioner of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, in Cecilia, and was member of the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Grand Knight. Survivors include his wife, Susie Huval Courville, of Cecilia; two sons, Jim Courville and his wife, Betty, of Winterpark, CO, and Msgr. J. Douglas Courville, of St. Martinville; one brother, Joseph J. Courville, of Cecilia; and two grandchildren, Dr. Zoe Courville Franzel, PhD and Dr. Xan Courville, M.D. He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Marie Dupuis Courville; and his sister, Cecile Courville. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and continue at 8 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
