Breaux Bridge - Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2020, at Southwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Jennings for James Daniel Franicevich Sr., 74, who passed away on Thursday, September 10, 2020, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, and continue on Wednesday at 7:30 am until 8:30 am.
James honorably served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War. During his time in the service, he earned a Purple Heart for wounds suffered. He also received many other awards and badges including a Combat Infantry Badge.
Boating was a big part of James' life; he worked as a captain for many years, but he also enjoyed spending time on his own boat, fishing. James was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. He was a member of the Cajun Harley Davidson Chapter, where he could be found most mornings making coffee. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda Spinner Franicevich; son, James Daniel (Jessica) Franicevich Jr.; daughter, Lindy (Kyle) Seymour; brothers, Bobby Franicevich and Mark Franicevich; sister, Anna (Ronald) Zuvich; and his grandchildren, Chloe Franicevich, Skye Hebert, Kade Seymour, Reid Seymour and Brock Seymour.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bosko Martin Franicevich and Mable Ulrice Franicevich; sister, Liz Cook and husband, Glen; and brother, Ivan Franicevich.
Pallbearers will be Billy Spinner, Tony Slavich, Chris Slavich, Donald Plumer, Kyle Seymour, Todd Noel and William Johnson.
