James Guidry

Parks - A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Parks on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. for James Guidry, age 81, who passed away at his residence on Thursday, September 29, 2011 due to complications from Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Delta Landry; his children, Debbie Hebert and her husband, Dalton 'Buddy' Hebert, Jr., Danny Guidry and his wife, Cindy Boudreaux Guidry, all of St. Martinville, Andy Guidry and his wife, Sandra Thomassee Guidry, of Parks, and Yvette Rebert of Coteau Holmes; 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; and three brothers, Jules, Ralph, and Harry Guidry. Mr. Guidry served in the Army in World War II and was a member of the National Guard for 15 years. He belonged to the Richard Champagne American Legion Post in Parks for over 20 years, and served as a past post commander. He was a machinist for over 20 years at both Red Fox and Eastman Whipstock. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noe and Adelaide Guidry; two brothers, Alvin 'Papit' Guidry and Russell Guidry; one sister, Volsie 'Poup' Robin; and one grandchild, Danielle Guidry. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Acadiana, Nursing Specialties, and Dr. Debra Durham, for their comfort and care given to Mr. Guidry during the last few months of his life.
