New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, October 3, 2007, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for James Eric Guillory, 45, of New Iberia. James passed away peacefully Sunday, September 30, 2007 after having enjoyed a fruitful life in the service of our Lord and Sheppard. His family was by his side as was his best friend, Leslie Bachert.
Rev. Keith Milligan will officiate the service.
Interment will follow in Beau Pre' Cemetery in Jeanerette.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, James was an active member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Abbeville. He served as a Vestry member and as a junior warden of the Vestry. He was also active in the Cursiuo movement. James traveled to Honduras as a member of a medical mission team, providing health care and spiritual guidance to those in need, and helped make repairs to an elementary school. After Hurricane Rita, he assisted with work on area homes that had been damaged by the storm.
James enjoyed woodworking, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his parents, W.L. and Louise Arabie Guillory of New Iberia; ?best friend, Leslie Bachert of New Iberia; brothers, Jeffrey Guillory and Irene of Metairie, John Guillory and wife Donna of New Iberia, Jason Guillory and wife Stacy of Navarre Beach, Florida; sister, Christine Holland and husband Marty of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nieces and nephews, Joy Morales and husband Shawn, Sara Prentice and husband Daniel, Kathryn Holland, Jack and Tommy Guillory, Kristi Picard and husband Nick, Lauren Guillory; great nieces and nephew, Kimber and Katelyn Morales, Chance and Cameron Picard.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents.
A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, from 4:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia. Visitation will continue Wednesday, from 8:00 AM until time of service.
A prayer service will be at 7:00 PM Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Guillory, John Guillory, Jason Guillory, Clint Kerns, Clark Drake, and Marty Holland.
Honorary pallbearers include Jeff Klorer, Nick Picard, and Haynes Gordy.
