James 'Gus' Gustafson

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, on Saturday, September 5, 2015, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for James "Gus" W. Gustafson , 75, who passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2015, in New Iberia. Interment will be at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Rev. Kevin Williams will officiate. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Mr. Gustafson was born to Wesley Axel Gustafson and Jennie Dee Robinson Gustafson, and was a resident of New Iberia for 37 years. He was a retired mining engineer from Cargill Salt, and his hobbies included traveling and fishing.. Survivors include Anna Humphrey Gustafson; sons, Ryan C. Gustafson and spouse Shawn Gustafson of Houston, TX, and Ross J. Gustafson of Charlotte, NC; sister, Judith Mullins of IL; sister-in-law, Diane P. Gustafson of FL; and grandchildren, Joel Gustafson, and Julia Gustafson. In addition to parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bret James Gustafson, and a brother, Gary Gustafson.
