James Hebert

Catahoula - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for James Hebert, 76, who passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2012, at Lafayette General Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm on Tuesday, and continue at 7:00 am until 10:30 am on Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Tuesday. Rev. Richard Fabr will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Pete Guidry. Gift Bearers will be Mattie Hebert and Pete Guidry. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. Mr. Hebert enjoyed spending time outdoors, most especially while getting his exercise by walking in the park. He was a loyal and avid fan of the New Orleans Saints. He is survived by his son, Scott Hebert and his wife, Carol "Tiny' of Saint Martinville; his daughter, Arlene Breaux and her husband, Charlie, of Las Vegas, NV; three grandchildren, Grant Hebert, Mattie Hebert, and Courtney Breaux; his brother, Rogers Hebert and his wife, Goldie; and his sister, Vivian Barras. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 58 years, Adeline Guidry Hebert; his parents, Pierre and Elmire Monte Hebert; a granddaughter, Chelsie Breaux; two brothers, Walter and William Hebert; two sisters, Odita Angelle and Edith Castille; and his brother-in-law, Harris "P-Rut"" Barras. Pallbearers will be Scott Hebert, Pete Guidry, Charlie Breaux, Terry Guidry, Grant Hebert, Ryan Latiolais, and Matt Dupuis. Pellerin Funeral Home , (337.332.2111), is in charge of arrangements.
