James "Jim" Langlinais

New Iberia – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for James "Jim" Langlinais , 68, who passed away on Monday, November 12, 2018 in New Iberia. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Cemetery. Rev. Bill Melancon will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Wednesday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 7:00 pm Wednesday. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 8:00 am until 12:30 pm. Mr. Langlinais was born in Youngsville on November 18, 1949 to the late Francis and Agnes Bailey Langlinais, and was a longtime resident of New Iberia. A 1967 graduate of Comeaux High School, and a 1972 graduate of USL, he was the body shop manager for Musson Patout, and served our country in the National Guard. Mr. Langlinais enjoyed all sports, fishing, and especially spending time at his camp. Survivors include his wife, Brenda Louviere Langlinais of New Iberia; sons, Dr. Brandon Langlinais and wife Sarah of Blacksburg, Virginia, Kevin Langlinais and wife Ashley of New Iberia; daughter, Andrea Billeaud and husband Brian of New Iberia; sister, Loretta Wilson and husband George of San Antonio, Texas; grandchildren, Emily Langlinais, Paul Billeaud, John Langlinais, Claire Langlinais, Mary Beth Billeaud, Anne-Catherine Langlinais, Luke Langlinais, and Liam Langlinais; sister-in-law, Peggy Harvey and husband Fred of Broussard; brother-in-laws, Ted Louviere of New Iberia, and Darrell Louviere and wife Lisa of Jeanerette; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Brandon Langlinais, Kevin Langlinais, Brian Billeaud, Justin Louviere, Trent Louivere, and Paul Billeaud. Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace, New Iberia, LA 70560, (337-365-3331) is in charge of arrangements.
