Arnaudville - A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 12:30 pm on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Arnaudville for James Sam, 55, who passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 12:30 pm on Saturday. A rosary will be prayed at 11:30 am on Saturday. Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville. James enjoyed fishing, cooking, watching football, especially the Cowboys and basketball, the Lakers. He also enjoyed drinking a good cold miller lite or bush. He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Sam of Arnaudville; two sons, Christopher James (Emily) Sam of Arnaudville, and Kyle James Sam of Arnaudville; three brothers, Roy Sam of Houston, TX, Allen Sam of Leonville, and Walter Sam of Lafayette; three sisters, Mary Pearlie Marks of Houston, Dianna (Kenneth) Edwards of Washington, and Camellia (Daniel) Comeaux of Arnaudville; granddaughter, Adalee Ann Sam of Aranudville; . He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Junius and Viola Sam; two brothers, Paul Sam, and Albert Sam; nephew, Cedric James Sam; godmother, Mary Roberts; . Pallbearers will be James Comeaux, Tracy Marks, Dexter Powell, Ernest Powell, Kenneth Cellestine, Gary Celestine, Ronald Davis, Joseph Broussard, and Daniel Broussard. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Sam, Allen Sam, Walter Sam, Christopher Sam, Kyle Sam, and Randall Papillion.
