New Iberia – Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery, for James “Skibby” Lealton Duhe, Jr., 85, who passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2025.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mr. Duhe was born on May 10, 1939, to the late James Lealton Duhe, Sr. and Mildred Minville Duhe. He was a 1958 graduate of New Iberia Senior High and attended USL, now the University of Louisiana Lafayette. An avid fisherman, Mr. Duhe was a member of the Board of Directors of the Washington Life Insurance Company, and was a former Board Member of J. Paulin Duhe, Inc. “Skibby” also enjoyed working with iron, and had a tremendous sense of humor. He will be greatly missed.
Survivors include his children, Jill Froisy (Gerard), Myra Nereaux, and Richard Duhe (Kristine); stepchildren, William T. “Tommy” Lord (Pam), Gwendolyn Voorhies (Alexis), Brian Lord (Cherie), Amy Pharr, and Elizabeth Shepherd (Warren); brother, Allen Duhe (Alfred Williams); grandchildren, Faith Girouard (B.J.), Brooke Froisy, Tyler Froisy, Megan Nereaux, Blair Duhe Segura (Cody), Kyle Duhe, Amanda Clause (Brad), Jamie Segura (Mike), Alexis Voorhies (Cristen), Lillian Voorhies, Megan Guillory (James), Michael Lord, Genee Richard, Rachel Pope (Will), Robert Shepherd (Taylor), and Katie Shepherd (Cade); 22 great grandchildren and two on the way.
In addition to his parents, “Skibby” was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Adrienne Emmer Duhe; sons-in-law, Norman Nereaux and David T. Pharr; grandchildren, William Lord and Rebekah Lord.
