James Herman Vicknair

Catahoula - A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Dion Hall in Catahoula for James Herman Vicknair, 80, who passed away on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Landmark of Acadiana Nursing Home. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall from 8:00 am until 2:00 pm on Saturday. Pastor Gabe Smith will officiate at the Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Lake Cemetery in Catahoula. James was a member of the Louisiana Crawfish Producers Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking and playing jokes on others. In his spare time, you could find him listening to Cajun and Country music, working on outboard motors and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his four daughters, Cathy (Dean) Borel of St. Martinville, Connie (Scotty) Theriot of St. Martinville, Alice V. (Mike) Bienvenu of St. Martinville and Lisa (Terry) Rush of GA; son, Wallace (Anna) Vicknair of Henderson; daughter-in-law, Mady Vicknair of St. Martinville; eleven grandchildren, Jude Knight, Trent Devillier, Nadia (Dustin) Poche, Tashia (Gary) Seeba, Josuha (Kayla) Romero, Jonathan Judice, Terville Vicknair, Ridge Vicknair, Dru Vicknair, Cody Borel and Lane Borel; and four great grandchildren, Addison Poche, Rylan Judice, Cruz Borel and Kylan Vicknair. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosy Dell Talley Vicknair; son, Archie Vicknair; parents, Ernest and Elodie Vicknair; sister, Zudie Hammers; and son-in-law, Terrel Devillier. Pallbearers will be Cody Borel, Lane Borel, Trent Devillier, Jude Knight, Terville Vicknair, Ridge Vicknair and Jonathan Judice. Pellerin Funeral Home (337-332-2111) is in charge of arrangements.
