Jamey James Allemond

Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, June 18, 2018, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Henderson for Jamey James Allemond, 44, who passed away on Wednesday, June 13, 2018. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 10:00 am until 10:00 pm on Sunday and continue Monday at 7:00 am until 10:00 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Rev. Garrett Savoie will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at a later date. Jamey was a Physical Education Coach at Teche Elementary in St. Martin Parish for 16 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed spending time "at the camp." He enjoyed playing basketball and softball, APA pool, and running. Jamey had an excessive amount of farm animals that he tended to, which contributed to his volunteering and active involvement in 4-H with his children. He loved his children, Kaden and Ava, tremendously. Also, had an unexplainable love for his dog Gigi, which he would often call out, "Gigi, come!" Jamey would give the shirt off his back to anyone and was the most selfless human being and would lend a hand to anyone that needed. His extreme zest for life and prankster attitude made you love him even more. He had an unimaginable amount of love and great memories that will forever be cherished. He is survived by his parents; Perry Allemond and Marjorie Phillips Allemond; girlfriend, Tristin Finley; son, Kaden Allemond; daughter, Ava Allemond; brother, James Allemond; sister, Amanda Allemond Duplechien and husband Jody; maternal grandmother, Mildred "Snooks" Phillips; paternal grandparents, Leonce "NuNu" and Evelyn Mary Allemond; niece and nephews, Braylon Broussard, Holden Allemond, Harlie Allemond, Johl Duplechien. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Grady Phillips, Sr.; and uncle, Terry Paul Allemond. Pallbearers will be Kaden Allemond, James Allemond, Braylon Broussard, Holden Allemond, Mark "Red" Finley, Jody Duplechien, and Johnathan Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Perry Allemond, Johl Duplechien, and Brady Phillips.
