Arnaudville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 14, 2020, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville for Jane Guidry Laneaux , 77, who passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, at J. Michael Morrow Memorial Nursing Home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10:00 am on Thursday and will continue until 12:30 pm Friday.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Thursday.
Rev. Travis Abadie will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Readers will be Chassata and En'Jolie Thomassee. Gift bearers will be Alvin "Jo Jo" Laneaux, Jr. and Anthony Laneaux.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Jane was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, talking, on the phone, and visiting with her family. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her sons, Herman Laneaux (Wanda), Harold J. Laneaux, and Alvin "Jo Jo" Laneaux, Jr. (Shantell) daughters, Barbara Taylor (Thomas) and Jennifer Robin (Paul); brothers, Leonard "Red" Guidry and Aristelle "Pa" Guidry; sisters, Lucy "Bootsie" LaGrange, Mary Ann LeGrand (Steven), Cecilia LaGrange, and Shirley Wiltz; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren, .
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin James Laneaux, Sr.; parents, Eliza and Ida Guidry; brothers, Oliver "Yo" Guidry, Alton "Nue" Guidry, and James Paul "Jim" Guidry; and sisters, Loretta "Tit" Taylor and Verna Granger.
Pallbearers will be Herman Cortez, Joseph Laneaux, Baily Laneaux, Tailey Laneaux, Anthony Laneaux, Paul Robin, Landon Robin, and Thomas Taylor.
Honorary pallbearers will be Herman Laneaux, Harold J. Laneaux, Alvin "Jo Jo" Laneaux Jr., Carol "Squirrel" Taylor, Roger Collins, Damian Robin, Adam Laneaux, and Austin Taylor.
