New Iberia - Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 16, 2017, at St. Peter Cemetery in New Iberia for Janel Veazey Fitch, 83, who passed away on Thursday, December 14, 2017, in New Iberia.
Rev. Keith Landry will officiate.
A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday from 9:00 am until 11:30 am at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia.
A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Fitch was born on May 12, 1934 in Kaplan to the late Willis and Inez Landry Veazey. She worked as a nurse and also managed several convenience stores, and her hobbies included gardening, crocheting, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew Fitch of New Iberia; daughters, Vicki M. LeBlanc of Coteau, Melissa M. Hudson and husband David of New Iberia; grandchildren, Harry LeBlanc, Jr., Nicole LeBlanc Walker, Stephanie LeBlanc, Vincent Hudson, Andree Hudson, Philip Hudson; and 16 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel Rhodes, and two grandchildren, David Hudson, Jr., and Joey LeBlanc.
Pallbearers will be Vincent Hudson, Harry LeBlanc Jr., Billy Landry, Philip Hudson, Shana Walker, and Samuel White.
Honorary pallbearers include David Hudson Sr., Kylan LeBlanc, Ridge Comeaux, and Joey LeBlanc.
