Janice Guidry Fuchs

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Janice Guidry Fuchs, 56, who passed away on Sunday, January 8, 2017, in New Iberia. Interment will be at a later date. Msgr. Keith Derouen will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. Janice was born on September 27, 1960 in Opelousas, and was a graduate of ULL. She worked as a school psychologist for the Iberia Parish School Board, and was a co-founder of SNIP (Spay, Neuter Iberia Project) a nonprofit organization. Janice was a passionate cook and had deep love for her cats. Survivors include her husband, Jeff Fuchs of New Iberia; parents, Raphael I. and Nora Arnaud Guidry of Opelousas; brothers, Donald Guidry and wife Louise of Austin, Texas, Glenn Guidry and wife Susan of Opelousas; sisters, Brenda Stephens and husband Kenneth of Opelousas, and Paula Lejeune and husband Deacon Barney Lejeune of Carencro; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a niece, Andrea Lejeune. Honorary pallbearers will be Glenn Guidry, Donald Guidry, Kenneth Stephens, Christopher Stephens, Deacon Barney Lejeune, Paul Guidry, Stephen Bodman, and Jimmy McCumber.
