Born on April 19, 1939, in New Iberia, Janice spent her life nursing others, both in her professional career at Dauterive Hospital, where she dedicated many years, and in her personal life as a beloved matriarch.
Nursing was more than just a job for Janice; it was a profound part of her identity. Her passion for her work shone through in the tenderness and dedication she offered to her patients. She cherished the monthly luncheons with her colleagues, where laughter and camaraderie filled the air, reminding her of the joy found in shared stories and experiences. Janice’s devotion to her profession left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to know her.
Beyond her career, Janice had an immense love for all children, which only grew more profound with the arrival of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. It was in their smiles that Janice found her greatest happiness. Her nurturing spirit and playful heart made every gathering a wonderful celebration of family, where love was the centerpiece.
Janice embraced life with a zest that was contagious. She traveled across the United States with her late husband, Larry, exploring new horizons together and creating memories that would be treasured forever. Her adventurous spirit led her on cruises and bus tours, allowing her to experience the beauty of this world firsthand. She attended many National Bowling Tournaments and Knights of Columbus Golf Tournaments.
As we say goodbye to Janice Perez Aucoin, we honor the incredible legacy she leaves behind—a legacy colored by compassion, adventure, and an unwavering love for her family. She will remain in the hearts of all who knew her, a guiding light of kindness and warmth that will never fade.
