Janice Sage

August 16, 1928 — December 4, 2011

New Iberia -A native of Norwich, Connecticut and longtime resident of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Miss. Sage died at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, December 4, 2011, at Azalea Estates in New Iberia, La. Mss. Sage obtained her B.A. degree from Connecticut College for Woman in New London, Connecticut. She was the executive secretary to the president of Asgrow Seed and Export Company in Milford, Ct. Her position required her to speak several languages especially Spanish. She remained with the company until they were purchased by Upjohn. She then was relocated to Kalamazoo, Michigan soon after the company changed hands. Janice remained with Upjohn for 39 years before retiring in 1990. Janice is survived by her nieces and nephews, who she always cared for and helped when needed. They are her niece and caregiver, Carol Redmond Haik and her husband Ted Haik, Jr., of New Iberia, Louisiana; Paul W. Redmond and wife Joni Redmond of Boynton, Florida; Kerry Redmond Couvillion and her husband Albert Couvillion of Ellicott City, Maryland; Eileen Redmond Comeau and husband Ray Comeau of Opelousas, Louisiana; Erin Redmond of Covington, Louisiana; Timothy Scott Redmond of Athens, Georgia; Barbara Sage Cochran of Cape Canaveral, Florida; Brian Sage and wife Cherie Sage of Moosup, Connecticut; Katey Sage Haid and husband Robert of Merritt Island, Florida; Kevin Sage and wife Suzanne Sage of Ellington, Connecticut; Daniel Sage and wife Stephanie Sage of Cocoa, Florida, and Timothy Sage and wife Deborah Sage of Coca, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Ellis Sage and Madeline Finlayson Sage; her brothers, Merton Charles Sage and William Ellis Sage, and a sister, Barbara Sage Redmond. The family would like to especially thank her sitters, Valerie Druilhet, Elva Mae Ford, Leona Wiley and Jacqueline Glenn, for their loving care. Thanks also to the great staff at AAA Hospice.
