Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Jean Nita "Janella" L. Johnson , 76, who passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2019, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Ugochukwu Jerome Cletus, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Shirley Thibodeaux and Sadie Mitchell. Gift Bearers will be Isabella Simpson and Morgan Alexander.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Jean Nita, known as "Janella" to her family and friends, was born on September 13, 1942 in Cecilia. She enjoyed going to the casino and being with her family and friends. Janella had a caring heart and would do anything for anyone in need no matter what. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving spouse Robert Johnson; son, Jules Alexander (Janice); daughters, Shelia Branner (William), Lisa Alexander, Denise Potier (Alfred), Janice Alexander, Danielle Matthews (Raymond), and Michelle Celestine (Preston); stepdaughters, Valencia Pete and Angela Johnson (Clifton Hypolite, Jr.); 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brothers, Claude Landry, Jr. and Marshall Landry (Denita); and sisters, Elba Davis (Curley), Mary Nell Zeno (Roy), Novella Jefferson (Miguel), and Dianne Glaude (David).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Mazy LeBlanc Landry, Sr.; brother, Eugene Landry; and sister, Barbara Boyd.
Pallbearers will be Blake Alexander, Joshua Branner, Jacen Boutte, Ernest Boyd, Jarel Noel, and Shane Noel.
