Jean Whitney LaBiche Sr

Lydia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia, for Jean Whitney LaBiche, Sr., 92, who passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015, in Lydia. Entombment will follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery in Patoutville. Msgr. Keith DeRouen will be the Celebrant. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 4:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM Monday. Visitation will continue on Tuesday from 8:00 AM until 10:15 AM. A native and lifelong resident of Lydia, Mr. LaBiche was born on March 2, 1923 to Numa LaBiche, Sr. and Edmae Hebert LaBiche. He worked in the oilfield as a welder, and he enjoyed gardening, cooking, playing his guitar, and spending time with his family. Survivors include his wife of 60 1/2 years, Mary Ellen LaBiche; daughters, Jean Ellen Bergeron and husband Andrew of New Iberia, Mary Virginia Lopez and husband Scott of New Iberia, Tracy Anne Wiley and husband Byron of New Iberia, Bridget Catherine LeJeune and husband Timothy of New Iberia, and Faith Margaret Wiley and husband Blaine of New Iberia; sons, Jean Whitney LaBiche, Jr. and wife Beth of New Iberia, Gerard Patrick LaBiche and wife Mary of New Iberia, Roy Joseph LaBiche and wife Regina of New Iberia, and Joey Drew LaBiche, Sr. of New Iberia, LA; sister, Theresa Collins of New Iberia; grandchildren, Bryan Bergeron, Jeremy LaBiche and wife Emily, Quentin LaBiche, Brandon LaBiche, Joshua LaBiche, Matthew Lopez, Marcus Lopez, Ryan Sigur and wife Karleigh, Tyler Sigur and wife Jordan, Timothy Wiley, Stephen Wiley, Benjamin Wiley, Sloane LaBiche, Joey LaBiche, Jr., Whitney Michael LaBiche, Anna Bergeron, Jade Cox and husband Jeff, Ashley Wiley, Morgan Landry and husband Scotty, Aubry Wiley, Aubry LeJeune, Evan LeJeune, Ashton Wiley; great-grandchildren, Jaylee Gaspard, Evelyn Sigur, Annelise Sigur, Whitney Claire Cox, Carter Landry, Finley Cox; and 2 due to arrive later this year. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Livis LaBiche, Milton LaBiche, Doze LaBiche, Emmett LaBiche, Albert LaBiche, Franklin LaBiche and Numa LaBiche, Jr.; sisters, Rita Broussard, Olita DeRouen, Jeanne Reagan, Effie LaBiche, and Ethel LaBiche. Pallbearers will be Jean Whitney LaBiche Jr., Gerard Patrick LaBiche, Roy Joseph LaBiche, Joey Drew LaBiche, Sr., Bridget Catherine LeJeune, Bryan Bergeron, and Brandon LaBiche. Honorary pallbearers will include Mr. LaBiche's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
