Jeanette Poteet

St. Martinville - Jean Poteet, nee Jeanette Marie Beslin, died Sunday, January 1, 2012 at the home of her son, Glenn Poteet in Lafayette, LA. Jean would have been 95 on January 4, 2012. Jean was the daughter or Elmire Bienvenu Beslin and Leopold Beslin of St. Martinville, LA. She was preceded in death by her son, George Paul Poteet and her husband, John Gregory Poteet Sr. Mrs. Poteet is survived by her daughter, Greta Spring and husband Gary Spring of Houston, TX; Her son, John Gregory Poteet Jr. and wife, Judy of Lafayette, LA; and her son, Glenn Poteet of Lafayette, LA; Mrs. Poteet is also survived by grandchildren, Gaye Pickering of Port of Spain, Trinidad, Gina Jones of Spring, TX; Gary Spring of Austin, TX; Monique Poteet Deshotel of Lafayette, LA; Claudette Coy of Lafayette, LA; Danielle Baham of Fairbanks, Alaska; Paul Poteet of Washington DC; and Julie Poteet of Chicago, IL; Mrs. Poteet is also survived by many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Poteet gave her body to the LSU Medical School in Shreveport, LA. A Memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at St Martin de Tour Catholic Church. Father Rusty Richard will conduct the services. Pat Melancon will provide the music. Her oldest son, John "Greg" Poteet Jr. will be the eulogist. There will be a reception after the services at Clambeaugh's Restaurant.
