Parks - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 30, 2007, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, in Parks for Jeanne Guidry Melancon, 83, who died on Monday, May 28, 2007 at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Fr. Bryce Sibley, pastor of St. Joseph Church, will conduct the services.
Mrs. Jeanne loved cooking and caring for her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She always had a smile for everyone. Special thank you to Dr. Deidre Stelly and her staff, Dr. Sterling Sightler and her staff, and her longtime caregiver, Millie Schexnayder.
Survivors include her son Ronald Joseph Melancon and his wife, Patricia of Parks; her sisters, Verna Huval of Breaux Bridge and Elaine Landry of Parks; her grandchildren, Corey Melancon and his wife, Lynette of Breaux Bridge, Casey Melancon and his wife, Amanda of Tomball, TX and Caddie Champagne and her husband, Paul of Breaux Bridge; her step grandchildren, Jason Marks and his wife, Crystal of Breaux Bridge and Thomas Marks of Hawaii; her great-grandchildren, Trystan Melancon, McKenzie Melancon, Mason Melancon, Addison Melancon, Morgan Melancon and Alyssa Melancon; and her step great-grandson, Michael Marks.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Melancon; her parents, Oscar and Euprasia Landry Guidry; an infant son, her brothers, John and Dewey Guidry; and her sisters, Una Cormier, Eunice Blanchard and Edna Blanchard.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 10:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 29, 2007 and continue at 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday until time of service.
A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Melancon, Cory Melancon, Casey Melancon, Paul Champagne, Richard Guidry and Harris Landry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Huval and Johnny Guidry.
Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements
