Jeannette Broussard Guidry

October 24, 1933 — February 18, 2010

Catahoula - Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, February 20, 2010, at St. Rita Catholic Church in Catahoula, for Jeannette Broussard Guidry, 76, who passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at her residence. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville. Fr. Richard Fabre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Linda Dugas and Julie Broussard. Mrs. Guidry was a parishioner of St. Rita Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society. She loved decorating her home, making floral arrangements, and doing a variety of arts and crafts. Jeannette was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, as well as a dear friend to everyone she met, always offering assistance to anyone in need of her help. She was a member of the Crazy Sox Dinner Club, which consisted of distant cousins and in-laws. Jeannette will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her loving husband of 56 years, Earl Guidry, of Catahoula; two sons, Glenn D. Guidry and his wife, Cindy, of Loreauville, and Ricky A. Guidry and his wife, Debbie, of Breaux Bridge; three brothers, Shirley Broussard and his companion, Hazel, of Parks, Joseph J.C. Broussard and his wife, Alice, of New Iberia, and Carroll Broussard and his wife, Deana, of Cade; three sisters-in-law, Gurlie Broussard and Betty Broussard, both of St. Martinville, and Carolyn Guidry, of Houston, TX; a brother-in-law, Kirby Guidry and wife, Faye, of San Miguel, Mexico; three grandchildren, Benjamin Guidry, Natalie G. Armentor, and Samuel Guidry; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Casimere and Edna Hollier Broussard; two brothers, Eldridge and Bobby Broussard; two sisters-in-law, Celia Broussard and Lois Guidry; and two brothers-in-law, Dalfred and Carroll Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Dion Hall in Catahoula from 12 Noon until 9 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be her two sons, Glenn and Ricky Guidry, Ben and Sam Guidry, J. C. Broussard, and Carroll Broussard. Pellerin Funeral Home, (337.332.2111), is in charge of arrangements.
