St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 pm on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Coteau Holmes for Jena Marie Lasseigne, 28, who passed away on Friday, May 21, 2021, at her residence.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 1:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday by Deacon Russell Hayes.Deacon Russell Hayes will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. Jena was a 2011 graduate of Loreauville High School. She was employed for 3 years as a Director at Gifted Early Learning Academy. Jena loved kids from a very early age and always knew that she would make it a career. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jena was a loving daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, and friend, who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her parents, Lonnie and Francine Albert Lasseigne; sister, Kailin Lasseigne (Dorsey “DJ” Barras, III); paternal grandparents, Clenis and Barbara Lasseigne; maternal grandparents, Wilbert "NaNeg" and Betty Albert; aunt and godmother, Angela Chataignier (David, Sr.); aunts, Bonnie Jagneaux, Connie Hayes (Russell, Sr.), Debbie Rebert (Steve, Jr.), Wendy Barras (Terry) and Lori Miller; uncle, Errol Albert (Lisa); and godchild, Madison Richard.She was preceded in death by her cousins, Kristen Barras and Jeremy "Popcorn" Rebert; uncles, Emile Jagneaux and J.C. Miller; paternal great-grandparents, Claybert and Anistasia Lasseigne and Eufice and Leona Chataignier; and maternal great-grandparents, Moise and Gertrude Albert and Stanley and Maria Granger.
