Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am, on Monday, May 6, 2013, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Jenny Lee Moran Dugas, 73, who passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday, and continue on Monday at 7:00 am until 9:45 am. A rosary will be recited by Pope Huval at 6:30 pm on Sunday. Rev. Michael Delcambre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Scriptures will be read by Calli Dugas and Amy Betancourt. Gift Bearers will be Seth Verret, Emma Fontenot, and Carter Chevallier. Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Henderson. Jenny, who was widowed for 37 years, raised her five children alone. She was retired from the banking industry after 35 years of loyal and dedicated service to her profession and her customers. She put a strong emphasis on customer service and enjoyed interacting with her customers, as well as her fellow employees. Jenny was an avid fan of football and enjoyed cooking for family gatherings on Sundays. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and a friend to many, and will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. She is survived by two daughters, Marla (Mark) Hebert and Deidre (Errol) Verret; three sons, Gene Patrick (Jessica) Dugas, Jr., Richard Todd (Mary) Dugas, and Troy Dugas; her sister, Cheryl M. (Bob) Carmichael; ten grandchildren, Courtney (Brandon) Fontenot, Amy Betancourt, Trent Hebert, Joshua Verret, Rachel Verret, Calli, Hannah, and Jaxon Dugas, Ashley Dugas, and Hunter Dugas; three great grandchildren, Seth Verret, Emma Fontenot, and Carter Chevallier, and one great grandchild on-the-way, Baby Fontenot. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gene Patrick Dugas, Sr.; her parents, Edward J. and Bertha LeBlanc Moran; her son-in-law, Walter J. Betancourt; and her sister, Beverly M. Arnaud. Pallbearers will be Gene Dugas, Jr., Todd Dugas, Troy Dugas, Deidre Verret, Keith Guidry, and Trent Hebert. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Arnaud, Jaxon Dugas, and Edward Bauman. The family wishes to extend their special heartfelt thanks to: Drs. Jaime Cordova and Debra Johnson, the nurses and staff of Southern Care Hospice, and a deep appreciation to her friends, especially, Yvonne, Dot, Kathleen, Elaine, Judy, and Bertha, for the constant care, support, love and attention given to her during her time of need.
