Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 17, 2020, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Jeremy Cy Prejean, 38, who passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at Lafayette General Medical Center, after a fighting a courageous battle with cancer.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Wednesday and continue on Thursday at 8:00 am until 10:30 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Wednesday.
Rev. Garrett McIntyre will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Brandy Gravouilla and Monica Breaux. Gift bearers will be his sons, Bentley and Baylen Prejean.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Mausoleum - No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Jeremy was born February 11, 1982 in Lafayette. He worked at Team Industrial Services for the last 10 years. Jeremy was an avid sports fan. His favorite teams were the Seattle Seahawks, LSU, and the Boston Celtics. He loved all of his Nike tennis shoes, a cold beer, cooking, and watching his favorite sports. His greatest love was his family and cherished his time spent with them. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Breaux Prejean; two sons, Bentley Prejean and Baylen Prejean; parents, Steven and Pamela Theriot Prejean; brother, Joshua Prejean; godfather, Shane Theriot and wife Monica; godmother, Peggy Knott; godchild, Reed Gravouilla; and his cat, "Baby Girl" Ebony.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Francis and Melba Theriot; paternal grandmother, Shirley Devillier; paternal grandfather, Lawrence Prejean; and his in-laws, Maurice and Rosabelle Breaux.
Pallbearers will be Steven Prejean, Shane Theriot, Courtney Gravouilla, Hunter Theriot, Corey Courville, and Niki Knott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Prejean and Chad Taylor.
