Jeremy was born on October 27, 1971. While in high school, he worked at the Teche News as a photographer and was a DJ known as, "Jammin Jerry". He then began his career in dredging. After some time, he found a love for horticulture and studied plant, water, and soil sciences along with environmental resources at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Jeremy owned and operated Bayouscapes. He designed and created landscapes and meticulously maintained lawns. He not only had a green thumb, he had green hands. He could make any plant or flower thrive. He was skilled in woodworking, drawing and was a perfectionist with his work.
Jeremy, known to many as "Aye Ya Yi," a nickname given to him by Mr. Kenny Barras. This nickname came about due to the pain he lived with after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at the young age of seven. He was quite the character. He had a personality that was like none other, a unique combination of qualities that made him amusing and interesting. He never met a stranger. He was the life of the party, an amazing conversationalist, and a hard worker. If you saw Jeremy around, you would find him wearing a toolbelt, bandana, and his sunglasses. He spent time in the basin fishing with friends or alone with his favorite rod and reel. He enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. His most famous dishes were ribeyes, boiled crawfish, and he was a self-proclaimed master sushi chef. If Jeremy were here today, he would tell you that his greatest pride in this world was his son, Andrew. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his son, Andrew Mitchell Savoy; parents, Robert "Bobby" Savoy, Sr. and Janina Castille Savoy; siblings, Melodie Talley (Kevin), Robert Savoy, Jr. (Amy) and Haley Dupuis (Dalton); nieces and nephews, Shelbi Talley, Jordi Devillier, Sydni Ellis, Dusty Savoy, Nenah Savoy, Noah Talley, Elliot Talley, Kohl Dupuis and Kami Dupuis; great nieces, Rori Prince and Paizlee Savoy; and his maternal grandmother, Aimee Borel Castille.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Abel Castille; and his paternal grandparents, Mitchell and Dorothy Savoy.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Savoy, Daniel Parker, Brett Buillard, Michael Guidroz, Glenn Breaux, and Richard Buillard.
Honorary pallbearers will be his godfather, Ralph "Bubba" Savoy, Avery "Bubba" Castille, Earl Bonin, Jr., Ryan Robicheaux, Abel-Paul Bonin, and Caleb Bonin.
