Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, June 8, 2024, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for Jermaine "Gee" Jamison Lawrence, 50, who passed away on June 2, 2024, in Lafayette, Louisiana.
A visitation will take place at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge on Saturday, June 8, 2024, from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 AM on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
Rev. George-Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the funeral mass. Readers will be Jamecia Lawrence and Javonnah Williams.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery.
Throughout his life, Jermaine found joy in simple pleasures which included his love for fishing on the local banks of the bayous, singing and listening to his reggae music especially his favorite artists Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, watching horror and military movies, traveling and his love of dogs especially "Frank". His love for these activities brought warmth and light to those around him. He will be remembered for the love he had for his family and his endless jokes that would bring laughter and smiles and brighten up the room.
He is survived by his parents, Maxie and Savannah (Sue) Joseph Lawrence, Jr.; son, Tyler Deon Hamilton; brothers, Carl Edward Lawrence and Gerard Joseph Lawrence; sisters, Dianna Marie Lawrence and Barbara Ann Lawrence; his fur buddy, Frank and a host of nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Horace Paul and Marjorie B. Joseph; paternal grandparents, Maxie and Ethel P. Lawrence, Sr.; uncles, Larry Joseph, Donald Joseph and Sonny (Theresa) Lawrence; and his aunts, Barbara Lawrence and Virgie (Cecil) Roy.
Pallbearers will be Archie P. Joseph, Kenneth J. Joseph, Sunnyboy Joseph, Randy Amest, Trent Smothers and Daniel Lawrence.
Honorary pallbearers will be Carl E. Lawrence, Gerard J. Lawrence, Chaz Lawrence, Maxie Williams, Tyrone Anglin, Crandell LeBlanc, Carris LeBlanc, Kendal LeBlanc, Jerome Batiste, Dale Lawrence, David Bossier and Joseph "BJ" Bossier.
