Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Jerome Joseph Dupuis, 82, who passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at his residence in Breaux Bridge. Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery #1. ; Rev. Neil McNeill, Associate Pastor of St. Bernard Church, will conduct the services. Readers will be Dana Stelly and Doralis Lejeune. Gift Bearers will be his great grandchildren. ; A native of Breaux Bridge, Jerome was born on ;August 2, 1927. He was one of twelve children born to Cleophas and Eva Bergeron Dupuis. He worked for Cargil Salt Mine for many years, as well as Pellerin Funeral Home, helping with the daily operations. Jerome was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion and Woodmen of the World. His hobbies included gardening, fishing, hunting, playing cards and going to the casino. ; Survivors include his sons, David Dupuis, his wife, Dolores of Henderson, Thomas Dupuis, his wife, Jodie of Henderson, Timothy Dupuis, his wife, Sheila of Henderson, Michael Dupuis, his wife, Tina of Scott; his daughters, Mary H. Belaire of Breaux Bridge, Delores Doyle, her husband, James of St. Martinville; his brother, Simon Dupuis of Breaux Bridge; his sisters, Eunice Breaux of Lafayette, Margaret Breaux of Breaux Bridge, Florine Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Annette Quebedeaux of Arnaudville, Suzanne Breaux of Port Arthur; 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. ; In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Lena Huval Dupuis; his brothers, Alphe, Howard, Clarphe and Emile Dupuis; and his sister, Bernice Calais. ; The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2010. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. and continue at 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Pallbearers will be his sons, David, Thomas, Timothy and Michael; his grandsons, Benjamin Doyle and Shawn Belaire. ; Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge is in charge of arrangements.
