Jerome "Jerry" Gehant

Breaux Bridge - A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Jerome "Jerry" Gehant, 72, who passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021.The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 12:00 pm until the time of service on Thursday.Deacon Ken Soignier will officiate at the Funeral Service. Jerome, known as "Jerry" to all of his family and friends was born August 22, 19 in Amboy, IL. He was volunteer firefighter in Henderson and also volunteered at Food For Families in Breaux Bridge. Jerry was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. Everyone knew they could call "Papa" if they needed. His family was everything to him. He cherished his time spent with his loving wife, daughters, and especially his two grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Ronda Gehant; daughters, Amanda Gehant and Sara Gehant; granddaughter, Alexis Gehant; grandson, Carlos LeBlanc, Jr.; sisters, Karen Gehant Stenzel (Frank), Mary Gehant Sanders (Richard) and Zita Gehant Westbrook (Phil); godmother, Mary Belle Gehant Novak; and a host of family and friends.He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Mary Jane Blue Gehant; daughter, Lynnette Marie Gehant; mother in law, Helen Arlene Latta Jenner.
