Jerome Octave Thomas, Sr.

Breaux Bridge - A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Pellerin Funeral Home of Breaux Bridge for Jerome Octave Thomas Sr., 63, who passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at University Hospital in New Orleans. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Breaux Bridge from 9:00 am until 10 am on Saturday. Rev. Ed Degeyter will officiate at the Memorial Service. Jerome was a graduate of Breaux Bridge Senior High School Class of 1975. He was a history buff and enjoyed reading poetry. Jerome enjoyed baseball, football, and fishing. He loved to dance and listen to music. His favorite musicians were Barry White, the Commodores, and Smokey Robinson. His love for God showed through his ministering to his fellow friends. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his son, Jerome Thomas, Jr.; daughter, Kenya Sterling; three sisters, Sandra Thomas Polk (Kenward), Emily Thomas (Joseph) Thibodeaux and Ada Thomas Washington (Clifton Valsin); brother, Michael Thomas; and his godchild, Tashona Hypolite. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Verina Ledet and Eugene Samuel Thomas, Sr.; two brothers, Eugene Thomas, Jr. and Jonathan Michael Thomas; godchild, Jeremy Charles; maternal grandparents, Octave and Olivia Goodie Ledet; and paternal grandparents, Causby Hamic and Ada Thomas.
