Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for Jerrell D. Batiste, 29, who passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 7:00 am until 10:00 am on Saturday.
A rosary will be prayed at 8:00 am on Saturday.
Rev. Ugochukwu Jerome Cletus, SSJ will officiate at the Funeral Mass. Readers will be Devin Baltazar and Alexis Batiste. Gift Bearers will be Aaliyah Batiste and Daylon Batiste.
Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery No. 2 in Breaux Bridge.
Jerrell Batiste, better known as "Gee", was known as a kind, mild mannered young man that enjoyed buying, selling, and repairing cars, trucks, and motorcycles. He also enjoyed listening to music. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his daughter. Gee lived life with no regrets, worries, nor fears. He will be truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Jerrell leaves many memories with one daughter, Yanni Batiste of Parks, LA; mother, Louetta Ann Batiste (Shelton Zeno) of Breaux Bridge, LA; father, Cleveland Sam (Cynthia) of Breaux Bridge, LA; mother/aunt Margret Potier of Parks, LA; sisters, Shannon Batiste of Parks, LA and Fallon Sam of Breaux Bridge, LA; and brothers, Jarrett Batiste (Alexis Batiste) of Duson, LA, Jerald Batiste of Breaux Bridge, LA, Donovan Sam of Breaux Bridge, LA, and Darrien Sam of Breaux Bridge, LA. He also leaves to cherish, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Roger and Anna Baltazar; paternal grandparents, Jeanette Lee and Willie Sam; uncles, Gerald Baltazar, Jerry Sam, and John Potier; and cousin Yumika Sam.
Pallbearers will be Tyrell Sam, Darrien Sam, Byron Williams, Justin Demouchet, Aaron Clement, and Obryan Batiste.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jarrett Batiste, Jerald Batiste, Trevell Lee, Kevin Williams, Courtney Williams, Blake Lewis, Jamey Lewis, and Kevin Henry.
