New Iberia - Memorial services will be at 12:00 Noon, on Tuesday, February 10, 2009, at the Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in New Iberia, for Jerry Huck, 78, who passed away on Saturday, February 7, 2009 in New Iberia. Rev. Scott Bullock will officiate. Born on October 18, 1930, Jerry was a manufacture's representative for women's clothing. An avid fisherman, he was the owner of Jerry Huck's Bait and Tackle Shop, and had been active in the Boy Scouts during his younger days. In addition, Jerry was a member of the Aurora Masonic Lodge, Shriners, and the Optimist Club where he was honored as Optimist of the Year. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Bank of Iberia. Survivors include his wife, Norma Abdalla Huck of New Iberia; daughters, Cynthia Foust and husband Dr. William Foust of Monroe, Suzan Cahanin of Shreveport, Peggy Swindle and husband Bobby of Shreveport, Neal Laxson Cockrell and husband Michael of Baton Rouge, Valerie Laxson Poole and husband Barry of Lafayette; brothers, Robbie Hucklebridge of Palestine, Texas, Charles Ray Hucklebridge of Palestine, Texas, 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hucklebridge; and his mother, Peggy Taylor Walsh. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. George Cousin, Dr. David Rinaldi, and to the staff at New Iberia Manor North for their care and compassion. Memorial contributions may be made to the Iberia Humane Society, P.O. Box 11422, New Iberia, LA. 70562, or to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday from 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Pellerin Funeral Home, 502 Jefferson Terrace Blvd, in New Iberia.
