VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Breaux Bridge - Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge, for Jerry Joseph "Yac" Sam, 49, who passed away on Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will follow at Bethelem Cemetery in Arnaudville. Fr. James Fallon will conduct the funeral service. "Yac" was self employed as a mechanic. He enjoyed riding horses and going on trail rides. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his fiance, Charlette Jean Baptiste, of Cade; 2 daughters, Felicia Noel and husband, John, of Breaux Bridge, and Tanya Batiste, of Carencro; 2 sons, Johnell Derouselle and O'Brian Batiste, both of Breaux Bridge; 2 step sons, Jude Vital, Jr. and Mequel Alex, both of Cade; 8 brothers, Cleveland Sam, Willie Sam, Jr., and Rickey Sam, all of Breaux Bridge, David Lee, of Cecilia, Gerald Lee, Lionel Lee, and Alvin Lee, all of Lafayette, Domonic Lee, of Atlanta, GA; 2 half brothers, Alton Sam, of New Iberia, and Dalcourt Potier, of Breaux Bridge; 2 sisters, Linda Sam and Cynthia Dugas, both of Breaux Bridge; 2 half sisters, Rose Marie White, of Houston, TX and Delta Sam, of St. Martinville; and 6 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and Willie Sam, Sr. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home on Carver and Dauterive Street from 2 p.m. until time 10 p.m. on Friday and continue at 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday. Pallbearers will be Tyrell Sam, John Lambert, Jr., Willie Sam, Jr., Curtis Joseph, Michael Nicholas, and Joseph Helaire. Honorary pallbearers will be Cleveland Sam, Rickey Sam, David Lee, Gerald Lee, Lionel Lee, Alvin Lee, Domonic Lee, Alton Sam, and Dalcourt Potier. Pellerin Funeral Home, 416 Dauterive St, Breaux Bridge, LA, is in charge of arrangements.
