Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 4 pm, on Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at Pellerin Funeral Home Chapel in Arnaudville, for Jerry James Stelly, 60, who passed away on Saturday, September 28, 2013. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 3 pm until 10 pm on Monday, and continue on Tuesday at 7 am until 3:45 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home in Arnaudville. A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. on Monday. Pastor David Baudoin of Crossroads Church will officiate at the funeral service. Scriptures will be read by Chelsea Gatte, Nina Brown, and Tiffaney Meche. Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville . Jerry was a Vietnam War veteran, who honorably served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. and American Legion Honor Guard. He enjoyed doing diesel and gas mechanic work and especially loved high-performance motors. An avid outdoorsman, Jerry enjoyed hunting and camping with his family and friends. A loving husband, father, grandfather, and a friend to many, Jerry will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Donna Guidroz Stelly of Arnaudville; his son, Jeramy Stelly of Breaux Bridge; two daughters, Elisha Cormier of Baton Rouge and Tanya Douglas of Houston, TX; six brothers, Johnny (Jeanette) Stelly of Port Barre, Jimmy (Geraldine) Stelly of Lewisburg, Terry (JoAnna) Stelly of Lewisburg, Frank (Lynnette) Angelle of Opelousas, Stafford (Jeanie) Stelly of Pollock, and Wayne (Theresa) Stelly of Rayne; his sister, Sue (fianc, Ricky Dugas) Bourgeois of Arnaudville; and two grandsons, Ethan Cormier of Baton Rouge and Blayne Stelly of Prairieville. He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Janette Rougeau Stelly; and his granddaughter, Elyse Cormier. Pallbearers will be Johnny Stelly, Stafford Stelly, Jeramy Stelly, Jimmy Stelly, David Wayne Stelly, and Clint Douglas. Honorary pallbearers will be Scottie Richard, Gene Gerace, Shane Bourgeois, Terry Stelly, Broc Arnaud, Frank Angelle, Ethan Cormier, Blaine Stelly, and Dwayne Cormier.
