Arnaudville - Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Saturday, April 19, 2008, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, for Jesselyn Marie Guidroz Stelly, 74, who passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at her residence.
Interment will follow at St. John Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.
Rev. Fr. Keenan Brown, Pastor of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the funeral Mass. Readers will be David Stelly and Madeline Breaux. Her grandchildren will serve as gift bearers.
Mrs. Stelly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, who took great pride in keeping her home very clean for her family. She enjoyed reading, praying, volunteering with the St. Theresa Group and camping with the Telephone Pioneers of America. She was a member of St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church Ladies Altar Society, St. Theresa Group, and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. Her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially her loving husband of 56 years, Louis.
Survivors include her husband, Louis J. Stelly, of Arnaudville; two sons, David Stelly, of Arnaudville and Francis Keith Stelly, of Jennings; four daughters, Bonita Lee and her husband, Gary, of Lebanon, Ohio, Carla Comeaux, of Lafayette, Pamela Arnaud, of Scott, and Lori Duplechin and her husband, Tony, of Arnaudville; one brother, Herman "Cowboy" Guidroz and his wife, Pearl, of Arnaudville; two sisters, Carrie Angelle, of Cecilia and Vivian LeBlanc, of Leonville; nine grandchildren, Jai Clay, Bucky Lee, Nicholas Arnaud, Jillian Comeaux, Candace Duplechin, Taryn Arnaud, Laci Arnaud, Tony Duplechin, and Spencer Stelly; and seven great grandchildren, Erika Clay, Brandi Lee, Halle Arnaud, Mikey Lee, Austin Clay, Brennen Lee, and Chloe Arnaud.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dutile and Alzire Lalonde Guidroz; four brothers, Edmond, Jessie, Joseph "Boy", and Francis Guidroz; and two sisters, Grace Richard and Noelie Sanders.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 10 a.m. on Friday and continue until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Friday.
Pallbearers will be Gary Lee, Tony Duplechin, David and Keith Stelly, Nicholas Arnaud, and Joey Stelly.
Honorary pallbearers will be Spencer Stelly, Jai Clay, Bucky Lee, Mike Guidroz, Fred Stelly, Austin Clay, Allen Sanders, and Herman Guidroz.
