VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Cecilia - Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, February 2, 2009, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia, for Jessie "Jake" Guidry, 75, who passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at University Medical Center in Lafayette. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia. Rev. Paul Broussard , Pastor of St. Joseph Church, will conduct the services. Mr. Guidry was a loving father and enjoyed taking care of his family and friends. He loved gardening, cooking, cutting grass and hunting. Jake was a craftsman and handyman in all things. He will be greatly missed by his two daughters, family and friends. Survivors include his daughters, Jessica Guidry and Deborah Guidry both of Cecilia; his brother, Amilcar "Meket" Guidry, Jr. of Cecilia; his sisters Paula Guidry Calais of Cecilia and Julie Guidry of Youngsville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Thomassee Guidry; his parents, Amilcar and Honorine Benoit Guidry; his son, Blaine Guidry; his brothers, Paul, Wilton (Chol) and Allenton (Bee) Guidry. The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 7:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 2, 2009. A rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Pallbearers will be Shane Guidry, Mickey Guidry, Paul Calais, Jude Guidry, William Jerry Guidry, Gerald Thomassee, Paul Thomassee and Carroll Thomassee. Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Thomassee, Ray Calais and Amilcar Guidry, Jr. Pellerin Funeral Home of Cecilia is in charge of arrangements.
