Jessie Laviolette Patin

July 20, 1937 — November 4, 2019

St. Martinville - A close and intimate gathering with family and friends will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, November 8, 2019 at St. Michael Cemetery in St. Martinville for Jessie Laviolette Patin, 82, who passed away on Monday, November 4, 2019, at her residence. Jessie will be laid to rest with her husband, Thomas, at St. Michael Cemetery. Fr. Bill Melancon will officiate at the service. Jessie was a graduate of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic School in St. Martinville. She was the youngest of 11 children and the last one to pass away. Jessie loved to travel, gamble at the casino, and play Bourrée and Pokeno with her sisters and friends. She was a loving mother of four, grandmother, and great grandmother who cherished time spent with her family. Sadly, Jessie suffered a fatal stroke only five days after the passing of her husband, Thomas. Both of them will be dearly missed. She is survived by her daughters, Mitzi Broussard (Stephen) of Youngsville and Patrice Fraser (Devin) of Canton, GA; sons, Todd Patin of Beaumont, TX and Thomas A. Patin, Jr. (Jennifer) Flagstaff, AZ; seven grandchildren, Meagan B. Kozma, Alysa B. LeBlanc, Calvin Smith, Katy Patin, Kohlton Patin, Ethan Fraser, and Jacob Fraser; and one great grandchild, Asher Kozma. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Anthony Patin, Sr.; parents, Alexis Joseph Laviolette, Sr. and Anne Albert Laviolette; brothers, Alexis "AJ" Joseph Laviolette, Jr., Junius Laviolette, Chester Laviolette, Francis Laviolette, and Malcolm Laviolette; and sisters, Annette Dugas, Mabel Gondron, Yola Carter, Inez Vincent, and Beulah Dugas.
