Jimmy Romero

New Iberia - A Graveside Service will be held at 11:30 am, on Monday, December 7, 2015, at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia, for Jimmy Lee Romero, 69, who passed away on Thursday, December 3, 2015. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Sunday and continue on Monday at 8:00 am until 11:00 am. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm on Sunday. Deacon Wade Broussard will officiate at the Graveside Service. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery in New Iberia. Mr. Romero proudly was a member of the National Guard. During his younger years, he cherished moments driving around in his green pickup truck listening to "In the Middle of the Night, Go Walking in My Sleep" with his children. His hobbies included; listening to French music and dancing, especially to his favorite song "Mama's Petite Boy", wheeling and dealing for the best deals while out shopping, watching western movies, playing solitaire, and being the practical jokester for family and friends. Mr. Romero cherished moments spent with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving companion, Loretta Rogers Clements of New Iberia, LA; sons, Scotty Romero, Troy Romero and companion Jody Hebert, Mark Romero, Brent Romero all of New Iberia; daughters, Katina Bayard, Kim Hebert and husband Karl, Jacinta Romero, Rachael Romero and companion Landon Olivier all of New Iberia; sister, Theresa Dugas Henicke of Lafayette; grandchildren, Brandon, Taylor, Alexis, Brittni, Broc, Landon, Raylan, Kaden, and Ava; one grandchild, baby Lane, soon to arrive; his beloved dog, Pierrette. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ozea Mathieu Dugas Romero and Aristile Romero; 5 brothers; 6 sister; mother-in-law, Emily "Mamie" Rogers; his dog, Blite. Pallbearers will be Karl Hebert, Mark Romero, Brent Romero, Kenny Dugas, Ken Dugas, Seth Dugas, David Clements, and Landon Olivier. Honorary Pallbearers will be Scotty Romero, Troy Romero, Kaden Romero, Roger Clements, Kevin Clements, Wade Clements, "Sunshine" Prados, Alex Gaspard, Brandon Romero, Raylan Olivier, and Dean Segura.
