Jo Ella "Joie" Kilchrist

New Iberia - Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Monday, January 21, 2019, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia for Jo Ella "Joie" Kilchrist, 59, who passed away on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, in Lafayette. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be Monday from 9:00 am until 3:00 pm at Pellerin Funeral Home. A rosary, led by the Men’s Rosary Group, will be prayed at 11:00 am Monday. A lifelong area resident, “Joie” was born on December 17, 1959 in Abbeville to the late Herbert Jay Gants, Jr. and Jo Ann Rost Gants, and was a graduate of Kaplan High School. She was employed with RK Pipe Supply, and enjoyed gardening, playing video poker, decorating for holidays, and hosting parties. Survivors include her son, Nicholas Kilchrist and wife Kristen of Youngsville; sister, Kathy Sandridge and companion Jerry Walker of New Iberia; brother-in-law, Russell Sandridge and companion Vicki Dore’ Cuccia of New Iberia; nephews, Derrick Sandridge and R.J. Sandridge; and a stepson, Wesley Kilchrist of New Iberia, LA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ella Meaux Rost, Claude J. Rost, Herbert Jay Gants, Sr., and Mary Carolin Skaines Gants. Pallbearers will be Logan Derouen, Luke Latiolais, Russell Sandridge, Derrick Sandridge, Keith Marcotte, Nicholas Kilchrist, and Chandler Marcotte.
