Joan R. Treadway

St. Martinville - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Coteau Holmes for Joan R. Treadway, 71, who passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at her residence. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in St. Martinville on Thursday, from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm. Rev. Joseph Padinjarepeedika will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Coteau Holmes. She was a faithful volunteer for St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Coteau Homes. She enjoyed visiting with friends on a daily basis as well as those who were homebound and needed her services. Joan loved her puppies, April and Loula Belle, as though they were her children. She is survived by her special friend, Jimmy Garbarino of Youngsville; brother, Dumas Dugas and wife Juanita of Loreauville; sisters, Gloria Thibodeaux of St. Martinville, Louise Barras and husband Eddie of Loreauville, sister-in-law, Felecie Laperouse of St. Martinville, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Wiley Romero; mother, Agnes Romero; infant twin, Rita Romero; brother, Ravis "Boo Boo" Dugas; and her husband, Robert Treadway.
