Jodi Lynn Weathersby (Lasseigne)

A Memorial Service for Jodi Lynn Weathersby (Lasseigne), 44, of Butte LaRose, who died on Monday, July 27, 2009, are incomplete. Jodi was well known in the area as "the blond chick with big earrings and signature rubber boots with a bandana on her right foot." Her perfume of choice was "lauder de Tractor Fuel." She was in her zone on her tractor and 4-wheeler whizzing along, a little too fast at times, in her orange truck with her music a little too loud. But her dog, "Billie Jean", didn't mind at all, she just howled along and kept in tune. Music surrounded them, Karaoke was her pleasure. In this dysfunctional time, she made her Mom laugh! Jodi was a true "Cajun Engineer"; her bracelet was a roll of duct tape. There was nothing she couldn't redesign or adapt to - she made it work. Survivors include her mother, Jeanette Lasseigne Weathersby, of Butte LaRose; her brother, Shawn Weathersby; her sister, Raine Weathersby; one nephew, also her godson, Kalyn Weathersby-Platz; her faithful companion and friend, "Billie Jean". She is also survived by her uncle, Ronald Lasseigne and family; aunt, Adelle Miller and family; uncle, Patrick Weathersby and family; aunt, Ann Weathersby Claussen and family; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She loved them all and allowed each of them the choice to accept her as she was. Should every person have the need and choice of a second dad, let it be in the form of "Wes" - "Pops" as she referred to him, was that choice. She was preceded in death by her father, Walter R. Weathersby, Jr.; a brother, Walter R. Weathersby, III; maternal grandparents, Marie Bonin Boutte and Roy Lasseigne; and paternal grandparents, Yvette Fromont and Walter R. Weathersby.
