John Adam "Butch" Polite

St. Martinville - A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at Union Baptist Church in St. Martinville for John Adam "Butch" Polite, 66, who passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, at Iberia Medical Center. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at Union Baptist Church from 7:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday. Pastor Darren Benoit will officiate at the Memorial Service. John was loved by everyone. He could remember your birthday, even when you couldn't. John will be remembered for his love for life, great conversations, and that expression of kindness in his eyes. He is survived by his loving sisters, Joyce P. Ebow of Parks, Shirley Skipper of St. Martinville, Gloria Polite Gardner of Irving, TX, and Marlene P. Foster of Baton Rouge; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Muller and Florita Chambers Polite; brothers, Louis "Sonny Boy" Polite, and James Allen Polite; and his sister, Mary Alice Fontenette. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Ebow, Donald Skipper, Towasky Polite, Ted Skipper, Giraud Polite Ph.D., Todd Skipper, Floyd Fontenette Jr., Keith Ebow, David Skipper, Elridge Ebow, Reginald Hill Jr., Reginald Hill Sr., Joseph "Buddy" Harrison, Marlon Gardner, and Glenn Ebow.
