Carrol was born in Church Point, La to the late Belton Bergeron and Sable Wills Calais. He was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era while serving for the U.S. Army. In 1978 he founded Acadian Credit Plan, where his customers affectionately called him "Mr. B".
He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and spending time at his camp in Holly Beach with Brenda. He loved his home in Butte LaRose, and he could often be found watching the deer in his deer pin and having a cold beer on his porch. He always looked forward to an annual canoe trip on the Buffalo river with his sons and son-in-law. He took such pride in making a rough camping trip into a five-star Cajun vacation with rice and gravy, steaks and adult beverages to feed anyone that passed by.
He was on the board at Farmers and Merchants for many years and was proud to be a part of his community. Carrol will be fondly remembered for his kind heart, his generous ways, and the love he had for his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Bernard Catholic School, 251 E. Bridge St., Breaux Bridge, LA 70517.
