New Iberia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 PM on Friday, January 20, 2017, at St. Peter Catholic Church in New Iberia for John W Breaux, 54, who passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, in New Iberia.
Entombment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery.
Rev. Mike Arnaud will be the Celebrant.
A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia. A rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM Thursday. Visitation will continue on Friday from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM.
A native of New Iberia, John was born on April 10, 1962 and was a 1981 graduate of Catholic High. He was a chef at Bayou Oaks Catering, chef and part owner of Peltier's Catering, and chef and partner at Gallery Catering. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Landry Breaux of New Iberia; son, Logan Breaux of New Iberia; mother, Betty Jane Savoy Breaux of New Iberia; sisters, Diane Breaux of New Iberia, Sheila Simon and husband Bill of New Iberia, Patricia Thompson and husband Rusty of New Iberia; brother, Andy Breaux of Delcambre; Kathy Jolet of New Iberia, who was like a sister; nephews, Elliott Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Austin Breaux, and Cody Simon.
He was preceded in death by father, Herbin "Nookie" Breaux; and his niece/godchild, Shelly Simon.
Pallbearers will be Logan Breaux, Elliott Thompson, Jacob Thompson, Cody Simon, Bill Simon, and Rusty Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers include Joe Gonsoulin, Wayne Peltier, Thomas Lemaire, Vince Palumbo, Tom LeBlanc, and Donald Poche.
