New Iberia - Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Pellerin Funeral Home in New Iberia, for John Henry Clavelle, 67, who passed away on Saturday, June 9, 2018, in New Iberia. A gathering of family and friends will be from 8:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday. Pastor Eric Fondal will be the Officiant. Interment will follow at Beau Pre Cemetery in Jeanerette. A resident of New Iberia, John Henry Clavelle was born in Jeanerette on September 5, 1950, and worked as a custodian for the Iberia Parish School Board prior to retirement. He enjoyed dancing and riding his bicycle. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be deeply missed. Mr. Clavelle is survived by his loving wife of many years, Vera Barlow Clavelle; daughter, Sheree Small and husband Kenyatta Small of New Iberia; son, Marcus Clavelle and fiance, Sharlene Jones of New Iberia; grandchildren, Saasha and Kyson Small; sisters, Mary Lee Hill of New Iberia, Martha Hogan of New Iberia, Audrey August of New Iberia, and Grace Thomas of Houston; and a brother, Earl Hogan and wife Annie Mae of Jeanerette. He was preceded in death by his father, Columbus Key, mother, Mildred Clavelle Hogan; the man who raised him, Rev. Fred Hogan; a sister, Josephine Elaine Gilliam; and a brother, Freddie "June" Hogan, Jr. Pallbearers will be Jordan Perry, Dale Hill, Brian Hill, Oswald Hogan, Michael Smith, Brett Rhymes.
