Breaux Bridge - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Friday, December 10, 2021, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge for John Walter Derouselle, 82, who passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021, at his residence.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday and continue on Friday at 7:00 am until 10:00 am.
A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 pm on Thursday.
Rev. George-Bede Ajuruchi, SSJ will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial.
Interment will follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery in Breaux Bridge.
John loved farming and always strived to be the best. He loved playing baseball, hunting, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Lee; four sons, Terry Derouselle, Tommy Derouselle, Walter Derouselle (Tanya), and Clyde Derouselle; four daughters, Agar Derouselle, Jennifer Journet, Demishia Lee (Robert), and Damaris Lee (Gaston); 25 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and his brother, Matthew Derouselle (Eula).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Armond and Christine Ida LeBlanc Derouselle; son, Ely Journet; brother, Wallace Derouselle; and his sister, Leona Williams.
Pallbearers will be Justin Derouselle, Tommy Nedie, Chantler Journet, Trevella Lee, Camaron Lee, and Desmond Breaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Derouselle, Tommy Derouselle, Walter Derouselle, Clyde Derouselle, Adam Williams, Dylan Mason, Devin Mason, Daniel Lee, and Dennis Lee.
